The Web site provides residents and business owners with information on wastewater, surface water and solid waste services, rates and programs.
At the click of a mouse, users can find out about building a compost bin, making chemical-free cleaning products with common household items and applying for low-cost loans to repair broken side sewers.
The informational site also offers a history of Tacoma’s landfill, animated views of the surface water and wastewater systems, as well as electronic forms for ordering or changing garbage and recycling service.
Environmental Services is part of the city’s Public Works Department and provides wastewater, surface water and solid waste management programs for mor than 50,000 residential and commercial accounts in Tacoma.
