Stadium Video, purveyor of movies ranging from mainstream to art house to eclectic, will close permanently next month, according to owner and Tacoma City Councilmember Marty Campbell.

The store, located at 29 North Tacoma Avenue, in the basement of the Harvester Restaurant and Lounge, opened in 1995 and grew its inventory to more than 28,000 movie titles and more than 30,000 memberships on file. In January 2011, Campbell closed Buzzard’s Discs near the University of Washington Tacoma campus after 14 years, and consolidated it into Stadium Video.
