Crisson to head national utility organization.

Mark Crisson, director of utilities for Tacoma Public Utilities, was named chair of the board of directors of the American Public Power Association (APPA) at the association’s annual national conference this week in Dallas. Located in Washington, D.C., the American Public Power Association is the service organization for more than 2,000 community-owned, locally controlled, not-for-profit electric utilities in the United States. Crisson served as APPA’s chair-elect during the past year and as APPA vice-chair in 2000-2001. He has been a member of the association’s Board of Directors since 1995, and has been active with numerous APPA committees throughout his years with Tacoma Public Utilities. He is also a member of the Electricity Advisory Board to the Secretary of Energy. Crisson also serves as chair of the board of United Way of Tacoma-Pierce County for 2002-2003.
