Council approves power rate increase

The City Council approved an ordinance March 22 that will allow Tacoma Power to raise power rates beginning April 4, 2005. The rate increase will be 7.2 percent for residential customers and 5.2 percent system wide. The rate increase will remain in effect through March 31, 2007.
