Community meeting will address proposed code changes for night clubs

Those interested in Tacoma’s Municipal Code related to entertainment and dancing at establishments that also serve alcohol need to mark the calendar for Oct. 8. As part of the Safe and Clean effort, the PROACTIVE team, which is focused on making Tacoma safer through business licensing conditions and restrictions, will host a community engagement meeting related to night clubs to discuss recommended changes to the municipal code.

The proposed changes are:

— Security personnel license (training program, background checks and mandatory alcohol server training);

— Fire evacuation and safety plans;

— No mixing the 21 and up crowds with minors.

All are welcome to attend the public meeting held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Tacoma Municipal Building North, Room 16, located at 728 St. Helens.
