Leaders of local non-profit and charity organizations will meet with estate planning experts and community leaders on Thursday, Sept. 5, to learn how such community organizations can promote and receive planned gifts to help them secure their future.
The leaders will come together for a half-day workshop titled, The Art of Legacy Giving, sponsored by the Pierce County Committee of LEAVE A LEGACY of Western Washington.
The workshop will be facilitated by former KIRO-TV broadcaster Gary Justice, now a financial planner with The Private Consulting Group.
Participants will also hear from local leaders who believe planned giving is a way to strengthen the community, including retired Tacoma School District administrator Willie Stewart; retired Lutheran Bishop David Wold, chairman of the Good Samaritan Hospital board of directors; and Tacoma Goodwill Industries development director Rick Oldenburg, among others.
The workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Landmark Convention Center, 47 St. Helens Ave. in Tacoma.
Advanced reservations are required by calling 800/682-0090 or 206/285-6237.
