The City of Tacoma’s Environmental Services new and innovative Web site (www.cityoftacoma.org/environmentalser-vices) earned a national APEX Grand Award from Communications Concepts in the Web and Intranet Sites Category.
APEX Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall telecommunications excellence. Grand Awards honor the most outstanding work in each of the 11 categories available. Communications Concepts awarded only 98 Grand Awards out of nearly 5,900 entries.
The Environmental Services Web site features a virtual house on the home page, where the kitchen, bathroom, living room and garage serve as specific utility pages dealing with topics related to wastewater, surface water and solid waste issues. The areas outside the house are also active links.
