The City of Tacoma has submitted two grant applications totaling $6 million to the Federal Highways Bridge Program to help fund two infrastructure projects.
One project aims to improve the driving surface for the Union Avenue Viaduct located near Union Avenue and South 35th Street. The other project aims to upgrade the Schuster Parkway/Ruston Way Bridge located near Old Town Dock.
The grant applications allows for up to $3 million per bridge with no local match required.
