City of Tacoma REQUEST FOR BIDS Specification No. PW14-0727F Department of Public Works Engineering Site 11 Phase II Esplanade (Completion) The City of Tacoma is accepting SEALED BIDS for the above solicitation. Submittals will be received and time stamped only at the Purchasing Division, located in the Tacoma Public Utilities Administration Building North, Main Floor, 3628 South 35th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409. Bids will be received until 11:00 a.m., Pacific Time, Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at which time they will be opened by a Purchasing representative and read aloud during a public bid opening held in Conference Room M-1, located on the main floor in the same building. An electronic copy of the complete solicitation documents may be viewed and obtained at the City's plan distribution service provider, ARC, 632 Broadway, Tacoma, WA 98402, or by going to http:// www.nwcontractorsnetwork.com. Prospective bidders will be required to pay reproduction costs. A list of vendors registered for this solicitation is also available at their website. After 1:00 p.m. the day of bid opening, preliminary submittal results and names of vendors submitting bids are posted to www.TacomaPurchasing.org for public viewing. A pre-bid meeting will be held onsite at the Foss Harbor Marina located at 821 Dock Street, Tacoma, Washington, 98402 at 2:00 pm on December 30, 2014 to answer questions regarding the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements included in the contract. Prospective bidders are urged to attend. Project Scope: This contract provides constructing a 300' long concrete esplanade, with lighting, railing and park benches. The project will also install seventeen steel and seventeen concrete plles to support the new Esplanade, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specification. The following is applicable to Federal Aid Projects: The City of Tacoma in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally Assisted Programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
