City of Tacoma Public Works/ Engineering REQUEST FOR BIDS PW15-0035F Prairie Line Trail- Phase 1A Submittal Deadline: 11:00 a.m., Pacific Time, Tuesday, March 8, 2016 Submittal Delivery: Sealed submittals will be received and time stamped at this location only: City of Tacoma Procurement and Payables Division, Tacoma Public Utilities- Administration Building North, Main Floor 3628 South 35th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409 Submittal Opening: Sealed submittals in response to a RFB will be opened by a Purchasing representative and read aloud during a public bid opening held in Conference Room M-1, located on the main floor in the same building. After 1:00 p.m. the day of bid opening, preliminary submittal results and names of vendors submitting bids are posted to www.TacomaPurchasing.org for public viewing. Pre-Proposal Meeting: A pre-proposal meeting will be held at Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market Street, Room 148, Monday, February 22, 2016 at 1:30 pm. Project Scope: This Contract provides for improvement of the Prairie Line Trail and shall generally consist of creating a 1/3 of mile addition to the trail. The project will construct a 14 foot wide concrete shared used bike path for a ~1/6 of mile over former BNSF right of way from Pacific Avenue to 15th Street and then improve the sidewalk over the 15th Street Bridge down to Dock Street. In addition, the project will install lighting, benches, crosswalks, directional signage, plants, retaining walls and construct a storm water swale along Hood Street.
