CITY OF TACOMA, WASHINGTON
On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the City Council will conduct a public hearing on the declaration of surplus and five-year lease of approximately 15.25 acres of Tacoma Rail property, located at 1738 Milwaukee Way, to the Northwest Seaport Alliance as licensee/agent of the Port of Tacoma, for the amount of $100,000 per month, plus eight percent for operating cost recovery and annual Consumer Price Index adjustments for an intermodal facility, commencing on
September 1, 2025.

The meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format. To attend in person, the meeting will be held at the Tacoma Municipal Building in the Council Chambers, located at 747 Market Street, on the first floor. Council meetings are also available to watch live on TV Tacoma.
Oral comments will be taken during the City Council meeting. Those wishing to submit written comments may do so by email to the City Clerk’s Office at cityclerk@tacoma.gov or by mail at 747 Market Street, Tacoma, WA 98402, by 5:00 p.m., on Monday, July 28, 2025. Written comments will be compiled, sent to the City Council, and posted online.

Notice of Public Hearing
Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at approximately 5:15 PM
Proposed lease of approximately 15.25 acres of land located within the Tacoma Tideflats identified as 1738 Milwaukee Way, Tacoma, Washington.
A public hearing has been scheduled regarding a declaration of surplus and proposed lease agreement from the City of Tacoma, Department of Public Utilities, Beltline Division (dba Tacoma Rail) to the Northwest Seaport Alliance, a licensee/agent of the Port of Tacoma for a lease price of $100,000 per month, plus 8% for operating cost recovery and annual CPI adjustments. This property, identified as Pierce County Assessor tax parcel numbers 2275200650, 0321344025, 5260000030, and portions of 0320031011, and 5260000040, are no longer required for continued public utility service and are deemed to be surplus to the Tacoma Rail’s needs, but only to the extent and duration of the proposed lease agreement.
