LEGAL NOTICE
CITY OF TACOMA, WASHINGTON
Notice is hereby given that the Tacoma City Council, at its regular City Council meeting of Tuesday, December 2, 2025, passed the following ordinances. The summary of the contents of said ordinances, consisting of the titles, is as follows: Ordinance No. 29075 An ordinance adopting the Tideflats Subarea Plan as an element of the One Tacoma Comprehensive Plan, by replacing the Container Port Element and revising the Future Land Use Map and Land Use Designations, as recommended by the Tideflats Steering Committee and Planning Commission, effective January 5, 2026. Ordinance No. 29076 An ordinance amending Title 13 of the Municipal Code, relating to the Land Use Regulatory Code, by amending various chapters to implement the Tideflats Subarea Plan, including updates to land use, zoning, and development standards, as recommended by the Tideflats Steering Committee and Planning Commission, effective January 5, 2026.
Ordinance No. 29077 An ordinance amending Title 19 of the Municipal Code, relating to the Shoreline Master Program, by amending various chapters to implement the Tideflats Subarea Plan, including updates to shoreline environment designations and land use, zoning, and development standards, as recommended by the Tideflats Steering Committee and Planning Commission, effective upon approval by the Washington State Department of Ecology.
Substitute Ordinance No. 29078 An ordinance amending Titles 1 and 6 of the Municipal Code, relating to Administration and Personnel and the Tax and License Code, by adding a new section 1.12.157, entitled “Compensation of Public Utility Board Members,” and amending Sections 1.30.300, 6A.30.090, and 6B.20.030, to provide stipends for Public Utility Board Members, exclude them from the City’s retirement program, and exempt said compensation from business tax and license requirements, effective January 1, 2026.
