City of Tacoma Notice of Public Hearing November 27, 2013 On Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed sale of approximately 10.82 acres (1.21 miles) of real property within Tacoma Rail Mountain Division property, located in the vicinity of East D Street to Puyallup Avenue, to Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit), for its Sounder Commuter Rail Service. Doris Sorum City Clerk Notice of Public Hearing Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 5:30 PM in City Council Chambers Proposed sale of approximately 1.21 miles (10.82 acres) of Railroad Right-of-Way located near Freighthouse Square in Tacoma, Washington. A public hearing has been scheduled regarding a proposed sale to the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) of property owned by the City of Tacoma, Department of Public Works -Tacoma Rail Mountain Division. The property consists of approximately 10.82 acres and is located between East D Street and Puyallup Avenue, near Freighthouse Square. Tacoma Rail Mountain Division acquired this property in 1995 as part of a larger purchase from the Weyerhaeuser Company. Sound Transit intends to purchase the proposed sale area in order to enhance its existing Sounder Commuter Rail Services. The proposed sale includes provisions to allow Tacoma Rail to continue its freight operations on this property, and no public street right-of-way is included in the proposed transaction.
