Juvenile offender housing
Citizens who want to express their thoughts on proposed zoning code changes, which would allow for housing of non-adjudicated youth sexual offenders in group care homes in Tacoma may do so. The Planning Commission set up the hearing to respond to a petition for the change by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. After the public hearing, the Planning Commission will forward its recommendations to the City Council. If the council approves the zoning code changes, the ordinance will meet the criteria defined in the state Growth Management Act. Citizens who do not attend the public hearing may submit written comments to the Tacoma Planning Commission, 747 Market St., Room 1036.
