Council to hear presentation by Citizens Advisory Panel
The Citizens Advisory Panel that has been reviewing and deliberating on the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs investigation into the career of the late David Brame will make a presentation of strategies and recommendations to the City Council Oct. 5 during its regular meeting.
Council to consider municipal code revision related to adult entertainment
Changes to the Tacomas Municipal Code to provide for licensing and regulation of adult motels and sexual encounter establishments, including modification of lighting requirements for adult entertainment venues, will be considered by City Council members Oct. 5. This portion of the municipal code was last updated in 1997.
City may help Foss Waterway Authority improve marina and moorage
The City Council is scheduled to vote Oct. 5 on an ordinance that would allow issuance of a taxable general obligation line of credit of up to $2 million to support capital improvements along the Thea Foss Waterway. The improvements would include replacing the floats at the City Marina and placing permanent pilings in front of The Dock building and the Maritime Center on the Thea Foss Waterway. The permanent pilings would help support the Tall Ships event in Tacoma June 30 through July 5, 2005, as well as future events such as the Citys Maritime Festival.
Tacoma Water budget, rate proposals on study session agenda
City Council members will hear updates on the 2005-2006 Tacoma Water budget and a review of water rate proposals during a joint noon study session with the Public Utility Board Oct. 5 at the Tacoma Public Utilities building, 3628 S. 35th St. The meeting will be held in the ground floor auditorium conference room. CityPost (Channel 85 on Click!, Channel 77 on Comcast) will air the audio portion of the workshop live.
