After 1:00 p.m. the day of bid opening, preliminary submittal results and names of vendors submitting bids are posted to www.TacomaPurchasing.org for public viewing. Pre-Bid Meeting: A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St., Monday, March 9, 2015, from 2 pm to 3 pm in Conference Room #148. Project Scope: The Port of Tacoma Road has deteriorated to the point it needs to be replaced. The existing asphalt roadway surface from East 11th St. to South of Marshall Avenue will be replaced with concrete to be able to withstand heavy truck traffic. In addition to new road surface, the project will improve pedestrian access by completing missing segments of sidewalk, which will meet current ADA standards. A permanent traffic signal will be constructed at the entrance to the Washington United Terminal and a new signal will be constructed at Lincoln Avenue. Conduit for future Intelligent Transportation System along the entire project length and a water line from East 11th Street to Lincoln Avenue will also be constructed.
