A resolution on the May 23 City Council agenda would have the City purchase property at 6415 S. McKinley Ave. for $163,000 to be used as a temporary fire station for Fire Engine No. 15. The temporary station would be strategically located to help cover significant increases in the Tacoma Fire Departments emergency workload volumes in East and South Tacoma. If approved, Fire Engine No. 6 would be relocated to replace Fire Engine No. 15 in the Tacoma Tideflats, where it could assist in responses to Northeast Tacoma and Fife.
