Tansy Hayward will join the City of Tacoma on March 20 as a new Assistant to the City Manager. Hayward currently works as a management analyst in the City Manager’s Office in Des Moines, Iowa. She also worked as a management assistant and management intern in Des Moines.

Hayward was selected from a field of 52 applicants following a nation wide search. She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas, as well as a Bachelor of Arts, Political Science degree from the University of Kansas.

The Assistant to the City Manager position is a new job created as part of the reorganization of the City Manager’s Office that was implemented during the 2005-2006 mid-biennium budget adjustment.
