At study session on Tues., Aug. 9, Tacoma City Council is scheduled to receive a presentation from University of Washington Tacoma staff on the plan to build a Japanese Language School memorial along the Prairie Line Trail within the UWT campus. As a second item on the agenda, Public Works staff and a project consultant will present the findings of the Tacoma Area Transportation Study. The study identifies future transportation needs for the growth of freight-related traffic to and from the Tacoma Tideflats area. The Council will not take public comment during the noon study session in the Tacoma Municipal Building North, 733 Market St., Room 16. Audio from the session will be broadcast live on TV Tacoma and on tvtacoma.com. On-demand audio archives are available on the Web within 24 hours of the meeting at tvtacoma.com.
