Brame investigation: City Council delays decision on Corpuz

City Council members Tuesday delayed a decision on whether to ask City Manager Ray Corpuz to step down from his job earlier than he has offered, and have asked a council subcommittee to decide the matter.

Corpuz, 56, a Tacoma city government veteran, has come under scrutiny following the murder-suicide of Police Chief David Brame and his estranged wife.

Critics believe Corpuz promoted Brame despite glaring evidence he was unfit to serve on the police force.

Corpuz agreed to take paid administrative leave pending the outcome of investigations into the the case, at which point he said he would retire.
