Bankruptcy shutters downtown Tacoma's Pac Ave Tully's Coffee

A Tully’s Coffee Shop on Pacific Avenue in downtown Tacoma has gone dark following an announcement last week the parent company that owns the chain of coffee shops has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The store, located at 1427 Pacific Ave., closed Sunday, along with other stores in Seattle, Redmond, Kirkland, Port Orchard, and Woodinville. Visitors to the Pacific Avenue store this week noticed the windows covered over with brown paper and the following notice posted on the front door:

Tully’s has made a business decision to close our Pacific Avenue location. The decision to close a location is never an easy one and was arrived at after evaluating a number of factors. We want you to know that your contribution to Tully’s success was and is appreciated.

It has been a pleasure getting to know you over the past 12 years and hope that you will the time time to visit us at one of our other area locations.
