“Over a dozen members of the executive board of the Alaskan State Chamber of Commerce were treated Monday afternoon to a cruise on Washington’s official tall ship, the Lady Washington. The cruise, hosted by the Alaska Committee of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce and the Port of Tacoma capped a daylong exchange of information between the two trading partners. The Alaskan group was on its annual visit to the Tacoma area, providing an updated snapshot of business development and trends in their home state. The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce presented a synapsis of the greater Tacoma area’s economic development and business climate. The Port of Tacoma is a major port for shipping to Alaska. In addition to this visit, a delegation from the greater Tacoma business community attends the annual meeting of the Alaskan Chamber of Commerce.”
