ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 2015 SEWER PROJECT Notice is hereby given that the City of Fircrest, Pierce County, Washington does hereby invite sealed proposals for the 2015 Sewer Project as described and in accordance with the Bid Documents. Bid Documents will be available beginning July 8, 2015. Free-of-charge access to project Bid Documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders List) is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking on "Posted Projects", "Public Works", and "City of Fircrest". This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/ partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that Bidders "Register" in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the "Self-Registered Bidders List". Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project. The pre-bid walk-through for this project is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10:00 am. The meeting location is at the intersection of Princeton Street and Farallone Avenue. The scope of work consists of the following: replacement of approximately 2,900 LF of 6" sanitary sewer main with 8" HDPE installed by pipe bursting; installation of approximately 500 LF of 8" sewer main by open trench excavation; , reconnection of approximately 80 side sewers; installation, abandonment, replacement or modification of approximately 17 manholes; temporary wastewater bypass; and restoration of improved right of way, private property and fencing disturbed by the work described above as shown on the Plans and as described in the Project Manual. A majority of the work occurs on private property and will require close coordination with private property owners. Estimated Bid Range: $1,000,000 to $1,500,000 Proposals for this work must be sealed, marked "CITY OF FIRCREST 2015 SEWER PROJECT", and returned to the City of Fircrest City Hall at 115 Ramsdell Street, Fircrest, WA 984666999 by 10:00 AM, July 23, 2015, where and at which time the proposals will be opened and read aloud. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, in the amount not less than 5% of the bid amount, with a corporate surety licensed to do business in the State of Washington, and no bid will be considered unless accompanied by such a bond. At time and place named, such bids will be opened and read, and the City of Fircrest staff will proceed to canvas the bids, and may award the project Contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City of Fircrest reserves the unqualified right in their sole and absolute discretion to reject any and all bids, and to accept the bid which, in their sole and absolute judgment will, under all circumstances, best serve the interest of the City of Fircrest. It is anticipated that this project will be funded in part by the Washington State Department of Ecology. Neither the State of Washington nor any of its departments or employees are, or shall be, a party to any contract or any subcontract resulting from this solicitation for bids. The successful bidder will be required to conform to the wage requirements prescribed by the federal Davis-Bacon and Relate Acts which requires that all laborers and mechanics employed by contractors and subcontractors performing on contracts funded in whole or in part by SRF appropriations in excess of $2000 pay their laborers and mechanics not less than the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits, and determined the Secretary of Labor, for corresponding classes of laborers and mechanics employed on similar projects in the area.
