3K seasonal job openings slated for Puyallup Fair; Hiring begins Aug. 12

Locals count on The Puyallup Fair for 3,000 annual jobs, and this year’s Fair, Sept. 11 – 27, is no different. Hiring will begin on Weds., Aug. 12, and will run through Sept. 25. Seasonal jobs are available in a variety of departments such as food service, retail sales, game and booth operators, barn workers and much more. Wages begin at $8.55 per hour, with some paying more based on duties and skills required.

Applicants must apply in person, Monday – Friday only from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; and 1 – 4 p.m. The WorkSource Employment Office on the north side of the facility (9th Ave. SW between 4th St. SW and 5th St. SW) will begin accepting applicants on Aug. 12. To qualify, perspective employees must be at least 16 years old and be able to provide picture ID as well as proof of legal right to work, such as a social security card or alien registration card. The Fair will not accept applicants by phone or e-mail.

The Puyallup Fair first started in 1900. This Pacific Northwest tradition is one of the top ten fairs in the world in attendance, and features big name entertainment, the PRCA Rodeo, rides, exhibits, food, flowers, and animals.
