2012-159 REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL Animal Control Services for Kitsap County DUE DATE: SEPTEMBER 17, 2012 AT 4:00 PM PROJECT DESCRIPTION Kitsap County is seeking a qualified contractor to provide a host of animal control services. Per Washington State law, Kitsap County is required to provide animal control services to unincorporated Kitsap County to ensure the health, safety and welfare of Kitsap citizens and animals. To include animal control and impounding. Investigation of animal cruelty, animal noise and other violations of Kitsap County code Title 7. Investigation and process of dangerous dog complaints and violations. Removal and disposal of dead dogs and cats in County rights-of-way clearing of at-large livestock from County rights-of-way 24 hours per day emergency handling and veterinary care for injured stray animals. Provide a redemption system for impounded animals Provide a quarantine procedure for animals involved in a bite of a human. Initial and annual renewal of commercial pet facilities consistent with Title 7. Provide full training of animal control personnel animal welfare, safety, investigation and courtroom activities.
