The April 18 Planning Commission meeting, scheduled to be held in the City Council Chambers located on the first floor of the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St., will include a public hearing at 5 p.m. on the proposed amendment to the Tacoma Municipal Code regarding the shoreline regulations applicable to the Thea Foss Waterway S-8 Shoreline District. The proposed amendment would allow an increase in the maximum height to 180 feet on three development sites (Sites 10, 11 and the former Municipal Dock site), modify building envelope and other standards, add a requirement to protect the view of Mount Rainier from Firemans Park, and clarify design review requirements among other proposed changes. The Planning Commission will also offer an informational session on April 11, at 5:30 p.m. for interested parties to learn more about the proposal.
