Just a reminder: The Washington State Department of Licensing has announced that a driver license or identification card issued by another state is not sufficient to obtain a Washington driver license, unless the applicant has additional supporting documentation.
“We cannot guarantee the validity of driver licenses issued by other states,” explained Denis Movius, DOL’s assistant director for driver services. “We have no control over another state’s issuance process.”
In January 2002, the Department of Licensing issued 8,336 driver licenses to customers who had moved here from other states. The top three states were California (1,562), Oregon (1,307) and Texas (412).
