“Summer came early as the Tacoma Farmers Market opened its 10th season yesterday to throngs of downtown lunchtime shoppers under sunny skies.The market is celebrating its 10th anniversary by extending the season to every Thursday through October 19th, taking advantage of the autumn harvest.The market is located on Broadway between 9th and 11th streets in downtown Tacoma, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursdays.Fresh produce and flower arrangements dot the blocks of the market as community supported agriculture becomes more of a staple.Photos: The Fife High School Jazz Band and Jazz Choir entertained on opening day.
