“The Governor’s Council on Substance Abuse is a 26-member advisory group that researches substance abuse impacts and makes state policy recommendations to the governor and state agencies.All interested Washington State residents are encouraged to apply. The Council is particularly interested in applicants meeting one or more of the following criteria: – Youth leader under age 22 involved in prevention activities at school or in the community. – Community law enforcement officer or administrator. – Tribal member from an Indian Tribe within the state. – Resident of central or eastern Washington. – Personal experience with substance abuse or its impacts desirable. – Racial and ethnic minorities encouraged to apply.
