“Season Gets Belated GrantAfter its illustrious end in a winter storm, downtown Tacoma’s public art installation, Winter, Season of Light, received a Paul Allen Foundation Grant for $20,000.The art project created in a downtown vacant lot by Iole Alessandrini was to have continued through the month of January, but met its demise in high winds. Grant funds will be reportedly used to memorialize the project. Meanwhile, the lot where the project was installed is slated to become a multimillion-dollar office/commercial/retail development.R&D Grants AvailableThe Washington Technology Center is seeking proposals for research and technology development programs with awards available of up to $200,000 per project.The RTD Program supports partnership projects between Washington companies and university researchers to conduct research and development benefiting the company.
