State to get federal anti-terrorism funds

Washington state will receive up to $44.2 million in federal grants for emergency terrorism preparedness, the Homeland Security Department announced Monday, as part of a $2.2 billion nationwide allocation.

States can apply online for their allocated grants, which will benefit first responders such as police and fire fighting agencies.
