Candidates for Tacoma City Council will answer audience questions in this event moderated by the League of Women Voters. The candidate roundtable will be held on Thurs., Oct. 13, 7-8 p.m., in the Carwein Auditorium, Keystone Building, on the University of Washington Tacoma campus. Confirmed candidates include Karen Smitherman and Anders Ibsen, vying for position 1; incumbent David Boe and Michael Hardy, vying for at-large position 7; incumbent Lauren Walker, deputy mayor, running for position 3; and incumbent Ryan Mello, running for at-large position 8. A representative from the Auditor’s Office will be available to register voters. This is event is free and open to the public. The candidate roundtable is sponsored by Politics, Philosphy and Economics in the Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences program, as well as the Urban Studies program.
