Rehabilitation and replacement of the sanitary sewer that runs through Puget Gulch will begin Mon., July 18. Due to safety concerns, Puget Gulch will be closed to public access during construction. Construction is expected to be completed in November 2011. This project will protect environmentally sensitive areas and the public from sanitary sewer overflows by replacing or rehabilitating the aging sewers that run through Puget Gulch. The City’s contractor will primarily use trenchless technology to rehabilitate the existing pipe. Excavation work will be kept to a minimum and will be limited to regions within the gulch that are outside of the stream and wetland areas. This project is funded by Environmental Services Wastewater Management utility rates.
