For the third consecutive year, University of Washington Tacoma’s winter enrollment numbers have exceeded autumn enrollment. Autumn quarter typically records the highest number of students in an academic year. But since 2009, winter quarter students have outnumbered those from the previous quarter. UW Tacoma’s winter quarter headcount reached 3,372, edging past autumn quarter’s enrollment of 3,331 students. The autumn 2010 headcount was itself a record enrollment for the sixth consecutive year. The winter 2011 quarter enrollment represented a 6.9 percent increase over the same quarter last year and an 11.2 percent increase over the winter 2009 quarter. UW Tacoma began accepting freshmen students in autumn 2006.
