There’s a new tiger in town at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, and he has two names. The zoo is asking for the public’s help in choosing which of his current titles — Bali or George — best fits the 300 pound animal. The 11-year-old Sumatran tiger was called Bali for 10 years until a donor at his previous home renamed him George. People can cast their vote at http://www.pdza.org . The tiger came from the San Francisco Zoo and is currently behind the scenes at Point Defiance Zoo. He will make his public debut on Sat., Oct. 24. On that day, the zoo will celebrate its newest addition with a special day devoted to tigers. All three of the tigers that inhabit Point Defiance Zoo will be on display in separate enclosures in the zoo’s Asian Forest Sanctuary complex. They will receive special treats and enrichments throughout the day, making the event fun for them and the visitors.
