Port of Tacoma commissioners will weigh buying almost 1 acre of Fife property in the proposed State Route 167 corridor. When complete, the highway would extend from its current end in Puyallup to join SR 509 near the Port of Tacoma. If commissioners approve the purchase, the Port would lease the site back to current owner Art Morrison Enterprises while it builds a new, expanded facility in Frederickson. The Port expects to secure the property for sale to the state when it is needed for SR 167 right of way.
