The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Puyallup Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies are joining local businesses and community organizations in the annual Washington State Santa Cops project. Santa Cops provides food, new clothing, and new holiday gifts to families in need.
Through Dec. 14 a Santa Cops barrel will be located in front of the Sheriff’s Department reception desk on the first floor of the County-City building. Donations of new, unwrapped toys for children to age 17 and non-perishable food items are invited.
Since 1993, dozens of off-duty police officers, corrections officers, and civilian law enforcement personnel deliver groceries and gifts to unsuspecting families in the Puyallup/Pierce County area. Santa Cops also provides energy assistance and special needs assistance year-round.
