Assistant Director of Public Works, Karen Larkin, announced today that she will retire from the City of Tacoma on Jan. 1, 2008. Larkin has worked for the City’s Public Works Department in various capacities for 30 years.
Larkin has accepted a career opportunity with the Washington State Department of Community Trade and Economic Development as the assistant director for local government.
Larkin has offered to work on the transition plans to help minimize the impact to the Public Works Department.
