City's director of public works will retire

Assistant City Manager and Director of Public Works, William Pugh, announced today that he will retire from the City of Tacoma at the end of the first quarter of 2008. Pugh has worked for the City in various capacities for 33 years. For the past two years, he has served as the Assistant City Manager and for the past 14 years he has led the Public Works Department. Pugh has offered to work on the transition plans to help minimize the impact to the Public Works Department and service to the citizens of the City.
