There will be a coordinated push for signatures for the fight HST petition in the Nechako Lakes area this weekend. “The constituency is close enough to the goal that one coordinated push for signatures should do it,” says Mike Summers. Nechako Lakes needs 2,350 signatures to make up 15 per cent. That is hopefully enough to counter bad addresses. “The problem with Nechako Lakes is that nobody out of town gets to use their residential addresses much,” says Summers. “If they bring a drivers license or a hydro bill, hopefully they have a number on it if they don’t know it.” The signattures blitz will take place on May 15 in Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, Fraser Lake, Burns Lake and Houston. “We are putting the meat and potatoes on our plate. We will go for gravy after that. We are sending a message the government needs to listen to,” adds Summers. Mike Summers can be reached at 250-567-3395 in Vanderhoof or fight.hst.north@gmail.com
