TACOMA RAINIERS

The Tacoma Rainiers today released their 2009 season schedule, which includes a home opener against the 2008 Triple-A Champion Sacramento River Cats.

This season will mark the 50th anniversary of baseball at Cheney Stadium.

Opening Night on April 17 will be a historic occasion for everyone at the ballpark. In honor of Cheney Stadium's 50th anniversary the Rainiers have planned a pre-game ceremony that will give fans a look back at the history of the ballpark. That night will also be a first look at a new video board in left field and new scoreboard with digital pitch speed and LED screen in right field.
