Tacoma seeks artists for South Tacoma Business District public art

The City of Tacoma is inviting Washington State artists to submit qualifications for a $111,000 commission to create a permanent public artwork along and adjacent to South Tacoma Way between South 47th Street and S 58th Street. The selected artist or artist team will be encouraged to explore connections, enhance the business district, contribute to a sense of identity in the area, and prioritize community involvement in the research and concept development process.

The project is a collaboration between the City of Tacoma, State Farm Insurance, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and the South Tacoma Business District.
