Tacoma City Council will hold a study session at noon on Tues., April 3 to receive an update on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Subarea Plan. Tacoma’s community and economic development department staff, along with the chair of the Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) community working group, will provide an update on the status and initial community input received on the MLK Subarea Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). This project involves the creation of a Subarea Plan and companion EIS for the MLK neighborhood that will identify short and long term goals and objectives for this area and outline specific strategies to achieve them. City Council will not take public comment during the meeting, which will be held in the Tacoma Municipal Building North, 733 Market St., Room 16.
