Tacoma City Council to discuss "big-box" retail stores Tuesday

At noon on Tues., Jan. 31, during study session, Tacoma City Council is scheduled to receive recommendations from the Planning Commission regarding proposed amendments to the Land Use Regulatory Code recommended by the Planning Commission regarding large, or “big-box,” retail uses. Later in the day, City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the issue at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, first floor, Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St.

As a second item on the noon study session agenda, staff will provide City Council a timeline for funding to external organizations.

Lastly, as a third item on the noon study session agenda, City staff will provide a draft ordinance related to the non-profit health care exemption.

City Council will not take public comment during the noon study session in the Tacoma Municipal Building North, 733 Market St., Room 16.
