Tacoma Beer Week is fast approaching and adventurous beer-cationers and locals alike must begin contemplating which events to attend during the South Sound’s biggest annual beer bash. Celebrating its fifth year, the Tacoma Beer Week Team has set Aug. 5-11, 2018, as the week beer enthusiasts will have access to dozens of craft beer events around the Tacoma/Pierce County area.

While the countywide festival is organized by Zoe Brackney, who founded Tacoma Beer Week five years ago, most of the events associated with the celebration are operated independently, produced by local bottle shops, bars, breweries and restaurants. These include beer education events, tasting parties, special beer releases and tap takeovers.

Early highlights include The Harmon Taproom’s City Championship Air Guitar Contest Monday, Aug. 6; Parkway Tavern’s 4th Annual IPA Invitational, Tuesday, Aug. 7; Grit City Magazine’s launch party and collaboration beer release at Narrows Brewing, Wednesday, Aug. 8, Peaks and Pints’ 2nd Annual The Hopnificent Seven Western Beer Festival Thursday, Aug. 9 and Edison City Alehouse’s 3rd Annual Sour Tummy sour beer festival Saturday, Aug. 11.
