Proctor Arts Fest is coming, August 3, 2019

The Proctor Arts Fest in is a hyper-local arts and crafts street fair packed with dozens of showcases and attractions for all ages

Proctor Arts Fest is a community-based street fair on North 26th & Proctor Streets in Tacoma, WA. It has been organized by the Proctor Business District Association, along with community volunteers, for over 18 years. The goal of Proctor Arts Fest is to provide a free, accessible and celebratory experience of the arts for the public.

Proctor Arts Fest attracts approximately 10,000 visitors from Tacoma, Pierce and Thurston Counties and 160 art and crafts vendors every year. In addition to the vendors, it features a Juried Art Show of about 85 art pieces by 60 artists, three stages of live music and entertainment (this includes one stage that is designated “The Family Stage” – organized by personnel of the Tacoma Public Library), a kids area with participation by the Metropolitan Park District, a Farmers’ Market and a merchant sidewalk sale.

Come & enjoy live music and local entertainment, purchase original artwork or a craft piece from it’s maker, browse through the juried art show and let the children create their own original “art”.

A great way to get to know your neighbors and practice building your community. Proctor Arts Fest is a family friendly event.

The Hilltop Street Fair will highlight the food, music, art, history and culture of one of the most vibrant areas of Tacoma.

If you’ve never attended this fair, you have missed an event celebrating one of Tacoma’s most historic and diverse neighborhoods.

In previous years I’ve seen horses, collectible cars, fabulous food and unexpected displays and experiences on almost every table.

This is a neighborhood in flux – and it always has been. Tacoma’s Hilltop has been a welcoming home to newcomers of all backgrounds – from Italians and Scandinavians to African-Americans and Asians of all backgrounds, you can see it all here.

To get a sense of what Tacoma has been and what it is becoming, don’t miss this street fair.
