Sound Transit could sell surplus land to City of Tacoma

Sound Transit will hold a public hearing next week to seek comment on a proposal to sell four parcels totaling approximately 35,000 square feet of surplus land from the D-to-M Streets Sounder track and signal project to the City of Tacoma.

The parcels are located on the northwest corner of South Tacoma Way and Pacific Avenue, and on the northeast corner of South 26th Street and Pacific Avenue. The proposed use of the land is for utilities and landscaping adjacent to the Sounder Commuter Rail Line. Transactions are contingent on ongoing discussions and future approvals by the Sound Transit Board and the City of Tacoma.

The public hearing will be held on Thurs., Sept. 12 between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. at Union Station, Ruth Fisher Boardroom, 401 S. Jackson St., in Seattle.
