Crew razes former Colonial Produce warehouse on Thea Foss Waterway

A crew with Wm. Dickson Co. was busy Friday morning demolishing the former Colonial Produce building located at 1179 Dock Street along Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma. According to the Pierce County Assessor-Treasurer’s Web site, the 27,792 square foot storage warehouse, which sits on 1.27 acres of land near Johnny’s Seafood, was built in 1920. A 5,000 square foot cooler was added to the building in 1970. Records show the property is owned by Edgewood-based 1179 Dock LLC. It is listed for sale with Robert Naber of Kidder Mathews for $2.95 million (click here for more information). The Tacoma Daily Indexattempted to contact Naber on Friday to inquire about the demolition and any future plans for the property, but has yet to receive a response. This article will be updated if more information is received.
