City of Tacoma Public Works Engineering REQUEST FOR BIDS PW16-0537F South 38th Streetscape Submittal Deadline: 11:00 a.m., Pacific Time, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 Submittal Delivery: Sealed submittals will be received and time stamped at this location only: City of Tacoma Procurement and Payables Division, Tacoma Public Utilities- Administration Building North, Main Floor 3628 South 35th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409 Submittal Opening: Sealed submittals in response to a RFB will be opened by a Purchasing representative and read aloud during a public bid opening held in Conference Room M-1, located on the main floor in the same building. After 1:00 p.m. the day of bid opening, preliminary submittal results and names of vendors submitting bids are posted to www.TacomaPurchasing.org for public viewing. Solicitation Documents: An electronic copy of the complete solicitation documents may be viewed and obtained at the City's plan distribution service provider, ARC, 632 Broadway, Tacoma, WA 98402, or by going to http://www.nwcontractorsnetwork.com. Prospective bidders will be required to pay reproduction costs. A list of vendors registered for this solicitation is also available at their website. Pre-Proposal Meeting: A pre-proposal meeting will be held at the Lincoln Project Office at 750-C South 38th Street on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. A site walk to follow. Project Scope: The South 38th Streetscape project improves infrastructure in the Lincoln Business District on South 38th Street from South J Street to South Fawcett Street, and South Yakima and South G Streets from South 37th to South 38th Streets. The project generally includes replacing storm water, sanitary sewer, and water lines, new concrete sidewalks and street sections, vaulted sidewalk work, ADA compliant curb ramps, crosswalks, landscaping and sidewalk furniture, asphalt pavement grind and overlay, and traffic signal and streetlight improvements. Estimate: $5,000,000 Paid Leave and Minimum Wage: Effective February 1, 2016, the City of Tacoma requires all employers to provide paid leave and minimum wages, as set forth in Title 18 of the Tacoma Municipal Code.
