China second in home Internet access

China trails only the United States in the number of people with Internet access at home, with more than 56 million people able to connect from their residences, according to a recently released report.
A rapidly developing nation, China manages to lead the rest of the world in home Internet access, even as more than half of its population lives on less than $2 a day.
A study by Nielsen/NetRatings showed that just over 5 percent of China’s more than 1 billion people can reach the Internet from home.
